I am back in action with some cool articles over the next few days. For starters, I "pimped" up my RED with some excellent accessories. 4K Ninja Blair S. Paulsen kindly let me borrow his Red 300mm, Oconnor 1030 Head and his brand spankin new RED EVF!!! Stephen Pizzo from Element Technica provided a proto of the new 1030/Arri compatible dovetail. The ET cheese plate allows for many mounting options, a design with input from Matt Uhry, I am able to hook up my Noga to the RED EVF not to mention my RED Drive Cradle. The NOGA arm is just a temporary solution as the ET EVF mount is really the only way to go. Redmodz partner Justin O'Neil provided his newly arrived Arri FF4 follow focus to throw into the mix. One thing I am finding out for myself is that all the new Arri accessories are 15mm video spaced (as is my Chrozsiel FF) which causes compatibility problems. Stephen Pizzo and Michael Thornton (Red #192) ingeniously utilized the ET 15mm Top Mount with RED's 15mm adaptor to make it work. Et's ultra 15mm rods round out this package. I am loving the modularity of this camera. On a side note, we will be relaunching details for the "Pimp My Red" contest soon. We opted to wait for more REDs to hit the streets before launching the contest. Stephen Pizzo and Kendall Miller (FreshDV) will be among the five Judges. More details to be announced soon. Enjoy the photos. Any questions? Feel free to hit me up through the contact page.
