The Arctic X Shield, an electronic EVF heater for the RED Camera, begins shipping next week. "There are a lot of features in this thing, and we'll add cool stuff as we go along, but we're finally ready to roll this out.
We expect this should help in the following: - Allows the EVF to work in below freezing temps (base model) or sub zero temps (endurance model)
- It's light weight and complete coverage serve as additional protection for the EVF from bumps and hits
- It should help increase the EVFs resale value when it comes time to upgrade to the Bomb EVF"
