Air Sea Land R.I.B Remote Interface and R.I.P Breakout Box for Red Camera shipping soon!
Post from Reduser:" We now have a few demo kits available for anyone who might be organizing a RED One/3rd party accessory workshop."
"The NEW 'RIP' (Remote Interface Panel) provides quick and easy access to the RED ONE®'s I/O interface. The RIP easily attaches to the connector side of the camera and can be used in Stand Alone Mode,  or in conjunction with the optional 'RIB' Remote Interface (Break-Out) Box.  Using a single industry standard DVI-I Dual Link (Digital/Analog) cable,  you can have full access to all of the camera's immediate I/O's at distances up to 50 feet away."

To order: CLICK HERE.
For now I can give you the schedule based on the current state of affairs:

INCLINO:

    * Our supplier finally finished the first 500 sets of parts and they will be shipping out Tuesday - we have them by the end of next week
    * We have over 300 Inclino electrical sub assemblies ready to go into housings when received.
    * Our connector vendor will have 500 4-pin lemo connectors to us by the end of next week
    * 200 harmonic drives arrive Feb. 20th. - we received a preliminary shipment of 50.
    * 50 brushless motors arrive Feb 19th. - we already received 200 untis.
    * 200 sets of bearings arrive  Feb 19th. - we already have 50 sets.
    * 250 encoders already in stock

IMPERO:

    * 450 sets of mechanical components will be delivered on Jan 29th. - we currently have 50 sets.
    * 500 Controller and 250 receiver PCB Assemblies will be delivered by Jan 28th. Delays we incurred by the holidays and lead times on two electrical components
    * Our connector vendor will have 1000 4-pin lemo connectors to us by the end of next week for receiver/controller.
    * 500 encoders allready in stock

All components necessary to assemble all Inclino and Impero units will arrive by the 20th of Feb. and based off our actual assembly times  we will be shipping all remaining units  during the week of Feb 23rd thru the 27th.

I might as well tell you now that it has become clear that we will need to raise the price point of all of our products across the board.  High end bearings, customized  harmonic drives/motors, Lemo connectors and escalating tooling costs and general R&D overhead for a year adds up to some significant development costs that we need to reccoupe to be viable on an ongoing basis.  The following pricing is effective immediately (Jan 9th, 2008) All existing orders will be honored at the original purchase price.

    * Inclino:.....................................$1295
    * Impero:.................................... $995
    * Bus cables:................................ $99
    * Red power Cables:....................... $99
    * DTAP cables:.............................. $109

    * Origo: .....................................$119
    * 2.5ft straight:............................$99
    * 2.5ft coiled:...............................$109
    * 10ft straight:.............................$109
    * 30ft straight:.............................$125
    * 50ft straight:.............................$157

Please note that the store will be shut down for a day while all the products are updated with the new pricing.

New Handle System and Lightweight Support Bracket for the Red One Camera by Douglas Underdahl
Written by Justin O'Neill
Saturday, 18 October 2008 20:27

Douglas Underdahl from REDUSER just posted a preview of his new handle system for Red.
"It has multiple mounting points for putting things on your Red like batteries, drives, lights, etc. and also putting your Red on things, such as cars, boats, helicopters, etc. Top handle is rounded underneath for nice grip, and flat on top with 3/8-16 tapped holes. End plates are laser cut steel. Very strong. Plate for RED Drive has isolation mounts. Please know that the final product will be all black - the aluminum black anodized and the steel satin black powder coat."

"Lightweight support bracket for the Red camera. Mounts directly to the front of the camera so you save weight and complexity over other methods. For 15mm rods, 60mm spacing. This prototype is bare 6061 aluminum; finished version will probably be black anodized."

Element Technica Battery Plate Installation Pictures
Written by Tonaci Tran

I am currently using the Element Technica Battery Plate and Shock Isolated Drive Mount on a feature film. The Element Technica Battery Plate provides a super elegant solution to mounting the Red Battery plate directly onto the cheeseplate top mount combo. The shock isolated mount drive has worked flawlessly on some major shock inducing setups including the RED mounted on the back of a motorcycle and also car mount. I am happy to say, no more dropped frames baby! For more info, please check ELEMENT TECHNICA's website.
