Fresh off the news grill. Curt von Badinski gave us the scoop on new photos and info about View Factor's latest creation: The Impero Micro Wired Digital Follow Focus.
This could be a great solution until their wireless control unit comes out. This also could serve as a backup to a wireless FF. Hopefully this comes out soon.
"I'm really excited to introduce the impero micro. It is essentially a wired digital follow focus - You can mount it on the camera like a conventional mechanical follow focus but with the added benefit of being able to take it off camera using up to a 9 foot cable. This little unit packs some great features. You can adjust the gearing of the motor on the fly, adjust the lens travel range, and adjust the knob travel range. This allows you to take lenses with limited range and expand it so the entire range of the knob controls the limited range on the lens. You can also limit the range on the knob to cover the full range of the lens. We will have more information on this in the next month... stay tuned for some other toys as well."
